A PROUD BATTALION

Homepage for the South Shields Battalion of The Boys' Brigade

Who we are

The Boys' Brigade is a Christian youth organisation, and as a part of that, the South Shields Battalion is the group of BB 'Companies' (individual church groups) in South Shields. By working as a Battalion, we are able to help young people develop together. Our Battalion is long-established, as you can read on our History page, and we draw on the experience of these years to do our best, all of the time.

What we do
The battalion organises events throughout the year; recent examples have included a fun-day and a 5-a-side tournament, both of which were very well attended and received. As well as this, the Battalion is also responsible for ensuring companies have all of the necessary resources they need on a week-by-week basis, and for organising the more traditional events for the Brigade - each year we hold a Battalion church parade, where all of the companies come together to march in solidarity and unity before God.
